Deconstruction update

I found out what to do with the way too big pants...I found a vintage pattern today. PENCIL SKIRTS!!! I will definitely use the brown plaid slacks for the skirt. I think I am going to do it in denim too. I am not much for the Jackie O jacket, but I wanted a nice flattering pencil skirt.

  1. fabulous idea, truly. I'm not digging the coat either...perhaps a little more length and a couple of cinches for shape at the waist?

  2. That's what I was thinking...a high waist. I saved the waist band so I don't have to re-do that. Where I somewhat stuck is: to line, or not to line. After a gazillion kids I got a pooch that I want to minimize, so I will probably line. Well maybe at least a tummy panel. I got this pattern for 50 cents at a thrift store, of course the pants I bought and wore years ago, and I have lining material that I got for 25 cents. Total cost of the skirt will be less than a dollar.

  3. I can't get away with wearing a skirt this high...I have zero shape ( no waist at all ) Never have. I would have a panel made of spandex in the front...er, I mean, I quit smoking 6 months ago and found a new love for saturated fats. Is the fabric the red plaid I saw yesterday in another post?
